Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Need to Know About Our Charlotte Medical Spa

GENERAL & BOOKING | Trust, Logistics, and Payments

  • Do I need a consultation before I can book a treatment?

Yes, for new patients. We offer complimentary consultations to ensure we choose the safest, most effective treatment plan for your specific goals. It takes about 30 minutes and allows us to review your medical history and expectations.

  • Who performs the treatments?

You are always in expert hands. All injections and medical treatments are performed by our licensed providers, Paulina Munoz, FNP-BC or Yerka Rodríguez, MD, NP-C. We do not use assistants for medical procedures.

  • Do you offer financing or payment plans?

Yes. We accept all major credit cards, as well as CareCredit and Cherry Financing. These third-party options allow you to break your total cost into manageable monthly payments. We can help you apply during your visit.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

We ask for 24-hour notice for rescheduling or cancellations. This allows us to offer the appointment time to another patient on our waitlist. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee.

  • Where are you located and is parking easy?

We are conveniently located in South Charlotte on Old Pineville Rd, easily accessible from Ballantyne, Matthews, and Pineville. Unlike Uptown offices, we have a private lot with ample free parking directly in front of our entrance.

  • Do you have a loyalty or membership program?

Yes! We participate in Allē (for BOTOX/JUVÉDERM points) and Aspire (for Dysport/Restylane). We ensure you get your points for every treatment so you can save on future visits.

INJECTABLES (BOTOX & FILLERS) | Addressing Fear & Results

  • What is the difference between BOTOX and Dermal Fillers?

Think of it this way: neurotoxin relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkles, essentially "ironing out" lines on the forehead and around the eyes. Dermal Fillers (like Evolysse) restore lost volume, plumping up lips, cheeks, and deep folds. We often use them together for a "Liquid Facelift."

  • Will BOTOX make me look "frozen" or unnatural?

No. Our philosophy is "natural aesthetics." We use precise dosing to smooth wrinkles while maintaining your ability to express yourself. You will look refreshed and rested, not stiff.

  • How long does BOTOX vs. Dermal Filler last?

BOTOX/Dysport typically lasts 3–4 months. Dermal Fillers last anywhere from 6 to 18+ months depending on the product used, the area treated, and your individual metabolism.

  • Do injections hurt?

Most patients describe BOTOX as a tiny pinch. For Lip Fillers or sensitive areas, we apply a strong topical numbing cream beforehand to make the experience very comfortable.

  • What is the "Lip Flip" and how is it different from Filler?

A Lip Flip uses a small amount of BOTOX to relax the upper lip muscle, causing it to "flip" slightly outward. It gives a subtle illusion of fullness without adding volume. Lip Filler actually adds volume for a plumper pout.

MEDICAL WEIGHT LOSS | Safety, Process, and Expectations

  • Do I have to take medication (like Semaglutide) to lose weight?

Not necessarily. While we offer GLP-1 medications (like Semaglutide and Tirzepatide) for eligible candidates, they are just one tool. We evaluate your specific health profile to determine if medication is safe and necessary for you.

  • How quickly will I see weight loss results?

Results vary, but many patients see weight reduction within the first few weeks of treatment. On our medical programs, patients commonly achieve 10–15% total body weight loss over the course of their plan.

  • Do I still need to diet and exercise while on the program?

Yes. Medication helps silence "food noise" and curb appetite, but long-term success comes from lifestyle changes. Our program includes nutritional guidance to help you build healthy habits that last even after you stop the medication.

  • What are the common side effects of weight loss medication?

The most common side effects are mild nausea or digestive changes as your body adjusts. We start you on a low dose and titrate up slowly to minimize these effects. Our providers monitor you closely throughout the process.

SKIN, WELLNESS & IV THERAPY | Downtime & Benefits

  • Is there downtime after Microneedling or Chemical Peels?

Microneedling: Expect 24 hours of redness (like a mild sunburn). You can wear makeup the next day. Chemical Peels: "Light" peels have zero downtime. "Medium" peels (like the VI Peel) may result in 3–5 days of light flaking. We will help you choose a treatment that fits your social schedule.

  • How many Microneedling sessions do I need?

While you will see a "glow" after one session, for collagen induction and scar reduction, we typically recommend a series of 3 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart.

  • Is IV Therapy safe?

Yes. Our IV drips are administered by medical professionals using sterile techniques and pharmaceutical-grade ingredients. We screen every patient for contraindications before administration.

  • Can I get IV Therapy and BOTOX on the same day?

Yes! This is a very popular combination. You can relax with a "Beauty Glow" or "Hydration" IV drip while getting your injectable treatments or facial assessment.

  • What are the benefits of B-12 injections?

Vitamin B-12 shots are a quick way to boost energy, improve mood, and support metabolism. Because they bypass the digestive system, they are absorbed much better than oral supplements. They are a perfect "add-on" to any visit.
